Before starting to lay a warm floor, it is necessary to carefully calculate the area of the heated surface. At the same time, only the area on which furniture is not located is accepted for accounting, that is, the one by which people will move. The next step must be selected a heating cable of the required thickness. If the warm floor is the main heating system and the room is quite cold, then the thickness of the cable should be at least 7 mm.
Such a cable will heat up longer, but it will also give heat for a longer time. If the room is already heated and it is only necessary to create an additional heat source, then a cable of 2 mm thick will be enough.
The third stage calculates the necessary power. Here, again, it all depends on how cold the room is. If it is poorly heated, then the power of the warm floor should be about 200 watts per 1 sq. m. For ordinary rooms with standard heating, the power of warm floors should be in the range of 100-150 watts per 1 sq. m.
Then the total length of the cable and the required distance between its turns are calculated. In order to calculate the distance between the turns during future styling, it is necessary to divide the area of the heating into the total length of the cable, and then multiply by one hundred.
