Emulsion paint does not belong to the category of enamel, oil and adhesive colors. This paint has the basis of powder plastic dissolved in water. When the water is evaporated, the plastic forms an elastic and strong plastic film.
The advantages of emulsion paint include their good solubility in water, so that this paint is not toxic.
The surface covered with emulsion paint breathes freely, since the paint perfectly passes air and moisture. Also, such a surface is easily washed.
Of course, emulsion paints are less stable in relation to oil paints, but they have a significant advantage in strength over adhesive paints, moreover, they are much more economical than oil.
To work with emulsion paints, foam rollers and sprayers are traditionally used. Before the start of staining, the paint should be thoroughly mixed.
If necessary, emulsion paint is diluted with water to the required consistency, sometimes soda is added.
This paint is suitable for staining surfaces such as wood, cardboard, plaster, only freshly fresh, as well as metals, after applying a primer layer. Emulsion paint is applied in two layers. The required time for complete drying is about 2 hours. To achieve the desired color shade, a certain pigment is added. The surface on which emulsion paint is applied should be dry and clean.
