The main requirement for the surface of the ceiling before painting – it should be leveled by putty and grieve. If it is planned to finish both the ceiling and the walls, then the ceiling should be done first, in order not to subsequently damage new and clean walls.
For priming the surface of the ceiling, you can use special primers: for cement, drywall and the like. Before work, you need to put on a headdress – this will provide not only hair safety, but will also not let your hair be on the just painted surface of the ceiling. As a rule, the paint is applied in two layers, and the subsequent layer is applied, only after the previous one will dry out well. It is important to remember that the thickness of the final layer should not exceed 1 mm, otherwise, after drying under its weight, the paint itself will fall off.
For the convenience of painting the ceiling, a roller or spray gun is used, since they do not leave traces on the painted surface. The paint should be acrylic, quite elastic for covering minor irregularities, and waterproof, that is, diluted with water. In general, painting the ceiling does not make up great difficulties and is quite possible for yourself.
